Female header is a type of female connector soldered onto a PCB board, with an elastic metal spring inside. It is usually used in conjunction with male headers to form a detachable electrical connection between boards and wires, mainly transmitting signals and currents.
Features:
1. Reliable connection
Internal elastic spring clamping pin, stable contact, low resistance (usually<20m Ω)
Gold/tin plated contacts, anti-oxidation, good conductivity, and plug and unplug resistance
2. Strong universality
Standard spacing (2.54mm) compatible with DuPont wires, IDC cables, and various modules
3. Diverse structures
Single/double row, straight/curved/surface mounted, buckle/foolproof, suitable for different PCB layouts
4. Craft friendly
Plastic high temperature resistant, flame retardant (UL94 V-0), suitable for wave soldering/reflow soldering
Small size, easy to weld, and convenient for automated production
5. Easy maintenance
Repeatable plugging and unplugging, convenient for module replacement, testing, maintenance, and upgrading
Applications:
1. Development board and extensions
Arduino、 GPIO interface and expansion board (Shield) for Raspberry Pi and STM32 development board
2. Board to board connection
Parallel/vertical stacking connections between industrial control motherboards and I/O boards, power boards, and display boards
3. Modular equipment
Pluggable slots for sensor modules, communication modules, and functional daughter boards
4. Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances
Internal PCB interconnection of televisions, routers, set-top boxes, and small appliances
5. Industry and Testing
Industrial control board PLC、 Test fixture, burning seat, signal adapter board
6. Cable connection
Cooperate with DuPont cables and IDC ribbon cables to achieve PCB connection to peripherals/cables
